My undergraduate work that is included here focused mostly on the use of scrap material. Whether it consisted of finding discarded cuts of wood or using old books in collage, I attempted to give discarded or unusable material new life.
My newest and final work was a series of metal and cloth wall sculptures that address the idea of skeletal structures covered by skin. My interest in this idea involved finding new ways to abstract the figure by directly and indirectly referring to the awareness of what surrounds us, internally and externally. Some of my work has been included in a recent publication entitled "The Starving Artist: The Eyes That Feel, The Hands That See," which can be found for purchase on Amazon.com. I am currently living in Charleston, South Carolina working for local artists who make purses and jewelry. Within the next year, I will be applying to graduate school in order to receive my Master in Fine Arts.
